Professional & Large Kites for Advanced Flyers
Hong Kong's kite culture is richer than you might think — it's not just for kids. Couples, families, community groups, and serious adult enthusiasts all fly kites. The latter group has moved beyond entry-level models; they want kites that fly higher, look more dramatic, and deliver a real visual impact.

Advanced Flyer Experiences
"I've been flying kites for 15 years. Last year I finally got a 2.4m golden eagle and flew it at Tai Mei Tuk. The wow factor was unlike anything before — at a certain height the eagle's wings spread across the sky and literally stopped passersby in their tracks! Benny also reminded me to bring thick gloves. Good thing I did — the pull from a large kite is beyond imagination."
— David, veteran kite flyer, Yuen Long resident
"Hong Kong has many serious kite enthusiasts who modify and even make their own kites. But if you want something that flies great right out of the box, I recommend starting with the 1.5m eagle kite, getting comfortable with it, then moving up to the 2.4m or extra-large sizes. Large kites require skill and strength — don't underestimate them!"
— Benny Mak, Founder of CS Kites

Large Kite Safety Guidelines
- Gloves required: Large kites exert significant pull — thick gloves prevent line cuts
- Get assistance: A second person to help launch is highly recommended
- Choose the right venue: Need wide open space, away from power lines, trees, and people
- Check wind strength: Too little wind won't launch it; too much is dangerous — Beaufort 5–6 is ideal for extra-large kites
- No-fly zones: Never fly within 5km of airports
